Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

I am considered an “out-of-network” provider and do not directly accept insurance.

Depending on the plan, some clients may receive reimbursement from their insurance providers. I can provide you with a “super bill” (pre-completed forms for you to send to your insurance company) for reimbursement. Please make sure to call your insurance company before starting services and ask them if they provide reimbursement for mental health services.

Do you offer a sliding-scale fee?

Yes, I have a limited number of sliding scale slots for those who are unable to pay the full fee. We can discuss further during a free consultation.

What is your cancellation policy?

Sessions missed or canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full fee.

This fee is only waived if a serious or contagious illness or inclement weather occurs.

Do you offer telehealth therapy?

Yes! I offer HIPAA-compliant video/telehealth sessions. I do ask that you are not driving or in public spaces for telehealth sessions.

Will there be homework?

I often recommend books, podcasts, articles or videos for topics that come up between us, but it’s up to you if you want to look into these materials. I won’t be upset if you don’t! Take what speaks to you and leave the rest.

Life is hard. Am I allowed to laugh?

Humor’s my favorite coping mechanism. You are allowed to express the entirety of your feelings, especially the laughter and joy.
